@Eric thanks for the explanation - this helps. We'll look into this. Generally we've seen that Jump's default (Portrait) is most appropriate for most RDP setups. Thats said, we're also exploring 'on the fly' resolution changes with RDP connections which will let you switch from landscape to portrait (it will require a disconnect and reconnect, but Jump will automatically do that for you).

using iPad and Jump Desktop to RDP into my MacBook.  MacBook has OpenVPN (not available for iOS) which is needed to link into work server.  Jump works great except right click feature.  When running an application like GE's Centricity, the right click gestures flash the blue ring (from a double tap or long hold) but it does not perform the right click function.

Anyway you could just add a button to the top (maybe in place of one of the two keyboard buttons) to perform right click function?

Hi, I have found that Siri Dictation does not work with your app, but it does with iTap application.  Copy Paste is enabled in my settings, let me know if there is some secret way to enable that feature.  If I open a text doc on RDP server, and open the keyboard, and use the Mic button, no text is passed to the text box.  Thanks

@Rob When connecting to Macs Jump sends a Ctrl+Left click for a right click. It seems like GE's Centricity doesn't support Ctrl+Left click. We'll add an option in the next update that lets you send true right clicks to Macs.

@Clifford - Siri dictation not working - this is a known issue with Jump 4.0.6. This should be fixed in our next update (we already have it working in our beta releases). Please hang on for the fix.

Hi there - awesome product for me so far.  But it would be very useful and far more easy to control, if it'd be possible to scroll horizontally left and right (with two finger swipe).  Thanks.

This app rocks. I have been struggling with PocketCloud Pro, and though I prefer their pointer implementation, you two finger scroll and especially your MUCH better connectivity rock. I do wish, you, had an Auto screen size option.

I've tried several RDP and VNC applications, and this is the first one that has felt comfortable to me. I'm mainly using Jump on a Samsung Galaxy S3, and on an Asus Infinity with the keyboard dock. The only feature I'm missing is the ability to tap-to-click on the touchpad. Is there a setting I'm just not seeing? Other than that minor wish, I'm totally satisfied with your app. I liked it so much that I upgraded to the paid version!

@Eric can you tell me a little more about the 'Auto screen size' option? What does it do?

    Thanks.

Auto screen size... Sets the host desktop size to the clients screen size. If you connect while in portrait the screen adjusts vs logging in landscape.

(Fixed the spelling mistake for you)

We'll add it to the feature list. Though, it'll only hide the mouse cursor and not actually effect any functionality. Are you sure you're not expecting different functionality?

To use Solidworks on my pc, I need to be able to press the middle mouse button and scroll the wheel. This is used to rotate the image you are viewing. This is the only think keeping me from traveling with my iPad and leaving my laptop home .Also CNTRL-middle press and scroll is used for zoom. It would be better for me if you supported a Bluetooth mouse with 3 buttons and a scroll. I would pay you $100 for that software enhancement and I will buy my own mouse. Not having a mouse, keeps the iPad down, in my opinion.

I have just discovered that by swiping the top row of function keys on the keyboard the Fn keys appear. This is perfect for my use case. I cannot speak highly enough of this app. An iPhone as a track pad will be icing on Alan already very tasty cake. Keep up the good work guys.

Right click drag would be a BIG help for me. I just switched from Logmein since they are limiting the number of computers you can have. I originally went with them because of the ability to right click drag. I noticed there was a comment above about adding it a while ago. Am I missing something? Can you please help me understand how to right click?

    Hi,

Any chance of the "Locked Screen" mode on Android/Kindle Fire?

I am trying to control a program on my Mac that has on-screen faders (vertical sliders) and it is annoying that the screen keeps scrolling out of the way when I get to the end of the fader, but if I resize the view to use less area they are hard to control.

There is no right click drag? that would be very helpful for the software I use and Windows in general. A great addition would be a small mouse icon on the screen and you could use that instead of the circle (obviously with an option to go between the two).

@James: Can you please open up a support ticket? This might be related to a VNC server issue we're currently tracking. Also, if anyone else sees a similar problem please open up a ticket by emailing support@jumpdesktop.com

@Mark: No right click drag at this point. We'll add this in a future update - along with middle button drag.

Hi, i connected my iPhone 4 to my laptop with no problems. This is using a gmail account. All I would like to know is: How do I connect and use my iPhone and see everything change on the laptop?

Because everytime I connect on the phone the Laptop locks. Do I need to change a setting?

    Thank you

@Hennie, you need to enable Jump's 'screen sharing' mode. Try re-running the Configuration Wizard:

    1. On your PC click: Start -> Jump Desktop -> Jump Desktop
    2. Click the Options link and then click Configuration Wizard
    3. When the Configuration Wizard pops up be sure to select the 'Remote Desktop (VNC)' option
    4. Follow the wizard steps to completion
    5. Once you're done you'll see a new connection appear for your computer on your iPad and iPhone with 'vnc' in the name.
    6. Tap it to connect and you should be able to see your screen without locking your laptop screen.

You guys have the best app, especially the keyboard input. But what you lack is a track pad mode. Spend a few minutes with the Desktop Connect app and you will see what I mean. Having to keep your finger in the little blue circle is kinda rediculous, and there is no need for it, as the other app shows. I still use your app because I need to type, but but every time I have to reach for the circle, I am reminded of how it could be better.
