Jump Desktop for Android now lets you can create home screen icons to your computers for quicker access. When you tap the shortcut icon, Jump will launch and automatically connect to your computer. Your computer will literally be one tap away.
Follow the instructions below to learn how to setup shortcuts for your connections:
- Instructions for Froyo & Gingerbread (Android version 2.2 & 2.3)
- Instructions for Honeycomb (Android version 3.x)
- Instructions for Ice Cream Sandwich (Android version 4.x)
Froyo & Gingerbread (Android version 2.2 & 2.3)
- Long click on an empty spot on your home screen till you get the Add to Home Screen dialog.
- Select Shortcuts.
- On the Select shortcut dialog scroll down till you see Jump Desktop
- Selecting Jump Desktop will display your server contact list. Click on any contact to create a shortcut for it.
- You should be able to see a shortcut on your home screen as shown below.
Honeycomb (Android version 3.x)
- Long click on an available spot on the home screen or click on the + icon in the top right corner or the screen.
- On the resulting screen shown above, select the More tab.
- Scroll till you see Jump Desktop and click on the icon. You may also drag the icon to a screen of your choice.
- After your click on the Jump desktop icon or drag it to a screen, you will be shown your server contact list as shown below. Click on any contact to create a shortcut for it.
- You should be able to see a shortcut on your home screen as shown below.
Ice Cream Sandwich (Android version 4.x)
- Click on the App drawer icon.
- On the top of the screen, click on Widgets.
- Scroll till you see Jump Desktop.
- Select the Jump Desktop icon, hold and drag it to the home screen you want your server contact shortcut on.
- When you drop the widget on the home screen, your server contact list will be displayed. Click on any contact to create a shortcut for it.
- You should be able to see a shortcut on your home screen as shown below.
