    Shahzad,

    Audio playback currently requires the RDP protocol. RDP is only available on Windows Ultimate, Professional, Enterprise or Business editions of Windows. You might be running Windows Home edition.

    I am using Windows Professional XP and am trying to get audio to play from my iPad. I have configured the settings using RDP as stated in the instructions, including setting the audio to "play on iPad," but when I play any audio files, it only plays from my PC's speakers and does not play from my iPad. Is there anything I'm missing? How do I get the audio to stream to my iPad?

    @Crystal: It's possible that RDP's Audio Redirection might be disabled through group policy in your case. Can you please take a look at this help article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725887(v=ws.10).aspx ? You might need to run the Security Policy Editor on your PC by clicking Start -> Run and typing in the following: secpol.msc

    when i run the connection wizard it doesn't give an option to select RDP.  When I first installed it, it did but now it doesn't give the option.  I even tried uninstalling, downloading the latest version and reinstalling, but that didn't work either.  Everything has always worked fine, but no audio.  Has been running in VNC mode all along.  I can't seem to change that.

    I have the same problem. My laptop is a MacBookPro with Mountain Lion and an iPad 2

    I also have the same problem. I just can't manage to stream audio on either android or ipad. Wizard just doesn't give the option of RDP in windows. It just gives VNC. How do we fix this?
