Follow the steps below if you see an error dialog with the message System administrator has set policies to prevent this installation when you try to install JumpDesktopConnect.exe. This error usually occurs if you are logged into your computer using a regular user account (i.e. an account that does not have administrative privileges) or if User Account Control (UAC) on your PC is configured not to prompt for elevation.
First make sure you're logging in using an Administrative account: Open up the User Accounts control panel applet and make sure it says Administrator under your account name. If you don't see Administrator under your account name then please stop now and try to log into the PC using an administrative account.
Once you've verified your account has administrative privileges try manually elevating yourself to administrator and installing JumpDesktop.msi. Follow these steps:
- First make sure you download JumpDesktopConnect.exe to your Desktop (this is important).
- Click Start and in the search box type in: cmd.exe
- You should see one hit for cmd.exe. Right click the link and select the Run as administrator option.
- A black window should pop up. In the black window type this in
%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\JumpDesktopConnect.exe
and press Enter.
This should start the installation process. Please open up a support ticket if you still have problems with the installation.
