This does not cover the case when the initial download, like from StackSocial file is a .xml file which your registration does not like on my iMac when it is selected.  Why do you make it so hard, especially for first time users?

A bit of hand holding would make your App much more user friendly and earn you better referrals both on and off line.

@Don There is unfortunately a problem with the way Safari downloads files - it adds the xml file extension. Take a look at this for more information: http://support.jumpdesktop.com/entries/25782809-Jump-Desktop-for-Mac-Can-t-activate-license-opens-up-as-a-blank-page-in-Safari

Thanks for the suggestion - we're going to allow using xml files as well when importing licenses.

ok so here I am now located at myDad's place, six hours driving. Run the Jump Desktop install only to be faced with a demand for a licence, in the form of a file located on the local computer? What? So, I am stumped. How is this previously reliable system meant to work exactly? What it no longer does is "just work". No surprise my Dad was unable to run whatever the updates were supposed to be, if I cannot he had no chance.

I have to admit I am so perplexed how you could think that remote control software requiring physical presence at the remote location was ever going to create a reliable experience. I get it that you were trying to facilitate our supporting multiple remote family members etc but my experience is having been permanently disconnected from everyone I was helping - so all I now have are plaintive emails and I cannot help anymore.

It DOES work on my LAN at home, eventually, but that's with me present at both machines, which really does defeat the objective.

    Hi Anthony,

It sounds like you're installing trying to install the viewer component on your Dad's machine. If you want to connect TO your dad's machine then you have to install the free "Jump Desktop Connect" app from here: https://jumpdesktop.com/go . It doesn't require a license.

I have the same problem. Every time I uninstall jumpdesktop and reinstall via the App Store it keeps asking for a license after I restart the app. Its becoming a completely useless app for me. Please provide some help here.

@Jumo desktop support. Can you please look into to my request. Anything else I can do to get the app back to work?

@joury Can you please email support: support@jumpdesktop.com ? If you've purchased Jump from the Mac App Store it should _not_ prompt you for a license. If you can locate your receipt for the purchase, please include that in the email - it'll help us understand whether you purchased from the Mac App Store or our web store.

I have purchased Jump Desktop from your web site but have not received a license key after contacting your company at least three times. Please provide a link to the download link and a serial number.

The purchase was via FastSpring by my PayPal account.

Was using Jump (Mac desktop) and chose to register. Paid using the App Store. It appeared to install a version unlike the demo desktop version that I was using. Now, I can't find the downloaded executable and my demo version still says unregistered. I would like to download an application (dmg or otherwise) for installation on other Mac desktops. Also, when I go to the App store now, it doesn't give me the opportunity to download, only OPEN. Wassup? Thank you
