When installing Jump Desktop on Windows XP and Windows 2003 some users may see an error message:
This happens because Windows has trouble verifying the digital certificate embedded in the Jump Desktop installer file - usually because the root certificates on the Windows machine are outdated.
To fix this try the steps below:
- Make sure you've installed all the updates offered through Windows Update: Open up Internet Explorer and click Tools -> Windows Update. Check for updates and make sure you've downloaded all high priority updates.
- Next, download and install the latest Microsoft Root Certificate Update for XP using the following link (do this even if you're running Windows 2003): http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=42092 . Note: When you double click on the file you may not see anything. In this case try double clicking the file again once again.
- Restart your machine (this is important).
- After the restart, double click on the Jump Desktop Connect installer and retry the installation.
