Retina support between two M1 Macs
I'm using Jump Desktop on a MacBook Air M2 (8.9.10) to connect using Fluid to a MacStudio (6.8.91) and can't for the life of me figure out how to enable custom resolution or ideally Retina displays.
This is my JD client setting, just to test a higher resolution, however as you can see no matter what settings I use, it doesn't change the resolution of the connection.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Steve, I'm new to JD and have a setup very similar to what you are trying. I'm connecting a MB Air M1 to a MB Pro with same versions software of JD and JD Connect. My host machine (MB Air M1) runs close to 4K resolution (3008 x 1692) and I have the MB Pro running at 3048 x 1905. Under the "Display > Resolution" setting I usually select: "Same as Remote Computer w/ Retina" and it works fine showing my entire MB Pro desktop in the full 3048x1905 in Windowed mode. I tested changing the Custom resolution settings and it appeared to work fine.. I tried a lower resolution like 2880 x 1800. It does not look very sharp bc of the lower resolution (even though Retina mode). Maybe you could try it in "Windowed Mode" vs "Full Screen" to see if that makes a difference?
Also, are you connecting locally (same LAN) for this connection or is one of the machines at a different location using the Internet? I'm just trying to connect from one MB to the other in the SAME LAN, but I feel like the JD App is trying to go out to the Cloud to connect between the two machines. It's very strange how you can't create a "Fluid Desktop" connection manually, it just gives you option for: VNC or RDP. I've tried asking Support about this but have not received an answer yet.

Thanks for the reply and insights @Erin Smith, greatly appreciated.
This gives me hope that everything should work, just need to figure out the magic combination I guess.
I'm starting to think that because my MacStudio that I remote into is plugged into a HD TV (it's my main server machine now), the fact the HDMI is connected is possibly restricting the overall resolution. I'll play around with that.
A few more points of clarification, and I'll head over to support to see what else might be suggested:Connection type = Lan to Lan (same subnet)
Tested Displays in = Both Single and Separate Windows
Start in = All three options, Windowed, Full screen on current and also Full screen on all displays
Resolution = Have tried them all, including custom resolutions just to see if the resolution changes, in my case it is stuck firm to 1920x1080.
