Drag-and-drop broken when remotely accessing macOS Sonoma
Screen freezes when attempting drag-and-drop in Finder or Outlook for Mac when remotely accessing macOS Sonoma. Terminating the Jump Desktop session and logging back in shows that the remote Mac did complete the drag-and-drop; it just failed to refresh the view and allow work to continue.

I'm having the same experience with Sonoma 14.1.1 on both Macs using Jump Desktop Version 8.10.4 (81005). The remote screen scrolling is extremely slow, not usable. Tried with a remote Mac using Ventura 13.6.1 accessing the Sonoma 14.1.1 and had the same issue. Seems that the Remote Login function in the Sonoma server function has changed.

Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us.
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with Jump.
For us to be more efficient in resolving this issue, please submit a support request and include the Jump logs from your iPad.
Please reproduce the problem and send over your logs by going back to the Jump Desktop main screen and tapping the gear icon on the top Left hand corner, and then tap the contact support button and send the logs over.
Kind Regards,

Jump Desktop support acknowledged this is a bug for VNC (drag-drop / moving crashes the remote client). This has not been fixed in 9+ months since the time this was posted. Customer support is pushing strongly to use Fluid, which is not a viable option if you require local-only access to a VNC server for security purposes, as Fluid forces the connection over internet if you are not using a Team / enterprise account. Below's my comm with support reflecting the status of this:

Every time I connect from iOS Jump Desktop via VNC to a Mac (i.e. Mac Screen Sharing connection), the iOS Jump app stops receiving screen data from the host Mac machine; however, the movement of the cursor/actions still transmit from the iOS device to the Mac. Other users have raised this issue which is still not fixed on the latest version of your iOS App (nor any version of Mac OS (I'm currently on Sonoma 14.6.1 but this has been broken since every version for the last couple year): - Aug 21, 2024, 01:02 EDT:
Hi, Have you tried connecting over Fluid Remote Desktop rather than VNC? You should have a far superior experience with Fluid, please do try it out. Thank you - Aug 21, 2024, 01:05 EDT:
Hi, I am not looking for a cloud solution that requires registry of my local machine to be accessible outside of my LAN for security reasons, and so Fluid is not an option, as there is no way to restrict to only LAN for personal use without a Teams account. - Aug 21, 2024, 09:25 EDT:
Hi, Regarding this issue, we are able to confirm that this is a bug on our side when connecting over VNC and we have already created a bug report for this for our development team to work on and address this issue. We appreciate your patience as we address this matter. In the meantime the alternative workaround is to connect to the host machine over Fluid Remote Desktop Protocol. - Aug 22, 2024, 00:08 EDT:
Thank you for this info. Could you provide a bug tracking reference number or update on the progress of this? I’ve instructed clients to purchase of your app and it’s disconcerting that this has been identified publicly since at least November 2023 without resolution over 9 months. My network deployment will not permit use of third party cloud / WAN access to host machines for security purposes — we require use of intranet / LAN only, and so Fluid is not an option. - Aug 22, 2024, 09:31 EDT:
Hi, The bug reference for this issue is part of our internal work list, so it’s only accessible to our team. However, please rest assured that we will notify you as soon as there is an update on the bug report. You can use this ticket as your reference for any follow-up on the issue.

My final advice to those of you planned to use VNC reliably is to simply uninstall Jump - no iOS updates have been made in over a year and developers are no longer investing in this product for iOS, but pushing sales of their subscription accounts like Teams, which is the only way (at $15 / month) to get their Cloudless Fluid solution that does not compromise your LAN security by not forcing your connection through their cloud servers. I have uninstalled Jump from iOS and MacOS and will turn to other solutions. Development and significant bug fix support for VNC and iOS is non-existent.
