Switching between dual monitors
-
Hi,
RDP's multi monitor option shows you both monitors at once (you won't need to switch between the monitors). If you can't see both monitors then the multi-monitor option is probably not working on your PC (we're investigating this on our end).
That said, the best way to see both monitors at once is to use Jump's screen sharing / vnc support. In screen sharing mode, you'll be able to both monitors at the same time - they'll be displayed as one big screen on your iPad / iPhone. To setup screen sharing run the configuration wizard and select the VNC option: Click Start -> Programs -> Jump Desktop -> Jump Desktop -> Options -> Configuration Wizard. Then make sure you select the Remote Desktop (VNC) option and continue the wizard to completion. Once you're done you'll see a new entry for your computer in Jump with VNC in the name. Tap it to connect.

Thats correct, Mark. Jump will either show you all monitors as one big monitor on your iPad (via the screen sharing feature), or it'll show you one big monitor and move all your apps to that monitor when you connect (this is when using windows remote desktop / rdp to connect). This way there isn't a need to 'switch' between monitors.

Hello,
i have the same problem. Dual Monitor not work under RDP.
When you have completed the investigation and fix this problem? I bought the IOS Version for 11,99 Euro, today, why im read under http://jumpdesktop.com/features "Multiple monitor support on Windows 7 and above." And i need this feature for RDP, it works under VNC, but with RDP i can login automaticly at windows. for this reason, i dont want use VNC for longer time!
Or its the problem with mulit-monitor support under RDP, what microsoft write: "The monitors must have the same resolution and be side by side"
Please fix this problem, RDP works very nice but without this feature. VNC works fine, but without Windows Login!
Thanks

I have been successfully using my 3-monitor setup (Windows 7 Ultimate), accessing it from my iPad 2, for over a year now, using good ol' RDP. The only problem I'm having is that sometimes, when I return home, the screens are dark, and won't respond to anything. The computer is still running. I have to reboot it. If I try Jump Desktop before rebooting, it says the RDP process is busy, try again later. One possible complication is that I am using a DisplayLink USB adapter to run my third monitor - maybe that is screwing up my Radeon graphics board when it tries to switch back from iPad to local display. Have you heard of anybody having this problem of the displays locking up after a remote session? -
@Henrik Can you please contact support@jumpdesktop.com - they'll guide you through the process. That said - if you could provide more details to support, we may be able to help figure out why its not working for you.

Any news on this? Or is your work-around still the way to see the 2nd monitor? If so can you explain in a little more detail? I have iPad 1st generation and a desktop with Windows 7. Which of those two needs to be configured, or is it both and what steps are involved? I once figured out how to run an application on my desktop from my ipad, and when it opened on the invisible 2nd screen I used the windows keyboard sequence to move the current window to the left. If i kept pressing the "move left" key I could slide the application into view. I cannot now remember how i did it. Do you know how to do it? My common problem is opening an app from my ipad which, when last used on my desktop, was placed in the 2nd monitor.
