    Hi,

To get the installer running on Windows 8 CP you'll need to enable Windows 8's .NET Framework 3.5 feature:

    1. On your Windows 8 PC open up the Settings app.
    2. Click on Programs and Features.
    3. Click on Turn Windows Features on or off.
    4. Enable the .Net Framework 3.5 (includes .Net 2.0 and 3.0) feature and press Ok and wait for the feature to be installed.
Important Note: Once the Jump Desktop Configuration Wizard starts please be sure to select the Remote Desktop (VNC) option. We are currently investigating an issue with the Windows Remote Desktop feature.

Let me know if you have trouble with this.

In the meantime, do you think you could put out another beta release for beta testers? I'm trying to use Jump to evaluate the latest Win 8 release preview on a tablet. Thanks!

    Hello,

I´m still waiting for a solution to use RDP to connect to my Windows 8 Client or Windows Server 2012! How long do you need fixing this problem, you know about it since middle of March. This is no good service for such an expensive App. Please hurry up.

    Regards

Wow, great response time. I'm so impressed with this app! Is there an ETA for this fix? Or, is there a beta group I can join? As I use this app a TON, I would love to help beta test this. Thanks.

@Christopher Can you please create a ticket by emailing support@jumpdesktop.com ? Just request access to the beta and you'll be given further instructions. Please note though: You might have to wait to be accepted since we're in the middle of beta releases.

Just so you guys know this IS NOT A WORKAROUND for the issue.

The issue still remains even after you download the latest .net.

@T Windows 8 RTM should prompt you to download .NET 3.5 as soon as you start the installation process. Are you not seeing this?

Some folks have reported problems installing the Jump Desktop Installer on Windows 8. The installer requires .NET 3.5 and although Windows 8 should prompt you automatically to install .NET 3.5 there might be some cases where it may not. In that case you can turn on .NET 3.5 manually in the control panel using these instructions: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/hh506443.aspx . Please take a look at this section: Enabling the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel
