Pipe symbol not working connecting from OSX -> Win7

Is there a known keyboard mapping issue connecting from OSX 10.8.4 through to WIndows 7

How to repeat

- Generic USB UK keyboard (can be repeated on Mac bluetooth keyboard with UK key mappings)

- Connect to a WIndows 7 VM (keyboard works correctly when connecting via CORD / Vmware View and MS Remote Desktop

- Confirm the language bar shows English (United Kingdom)

- running up notepad, the pipe symbol | comes out as a ¬

Other symbols such as ` "  # £ and $ are all working fine.
