After using Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to update 10586, Jump Desktop Connect doesn't work - Host Address IP address method still works.

    It works again.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Jump Desktop Connect, and the Android app.

I also installed and reinstalled a separate installation of TightVNC, which I know you don't need.

But both email login and host IP address (using the separate TightVNC) login work now.

After a while, Jump Desktop Connect stopped working.

Removing the separate TIghtVNC installation (recommended) fixed it.

I guess that the host address IP login and Jump Desktop Connect don't work together well for me now.

@Jeff - the Host IP address and login should work with Jump Desktop Connect. Can you tell me a little more about what happens when Jump Desktop Connect stops working? Do you see any error messages when you try to connect? If so - what do they say?

It's working fine now, but before, connecting through the automatic email setup would show “Connecting”, and just stay on that.

    Eh, it stopped working again.

    Secure screen sharing

The Windows icon is grayed out instead of green.

At this point, I'll create a new host address IP login in order to connect.

The jumping man icon is green.

Jeff, can you please grab the Jump Desktop Connect logs from your Windows machine? Open up Jump Desktop Connect and then click the settings icon on the top right and then click Diagnostics? Diagnostic Logs. Send the  log zip file to support@jumpdesktop.com - we might be able to help here.

Correction: We'll definitely find the issue and fix it - it shouldn't stop working this way.

There was a Windows update yesterday.

The automatic logon, secure screen sharing seems to work again.

Automatic login was working for a couple days, but then it stopped again.
    I'm using a Nexus 10 that's still on KitKat.
I don't know if that has to do with anything.
With a Nexus 7 with Marshmallow, Automatic login gives “Almost done”.
I'll just use the IP login for now, and see if automatic login springs back up later.
I'll send the latest logs to support@jumpdesktop.com.

Edit: I reinstalled Jump desktop connect, and Automatic login works again (Jeff415-PC is green).
I'll attach a second file of logs for when it started working again.

    Quick note:

If your version of Automatic login (e.g. Jeff415-PC) doesn't work, try repairing the installation with:

    JumpDesktopConnect.exe

That always fixes it for me.

I think I might do this once every 2 weeks or so.

    Hi Jeff,

We recently released Jump Desktop Connect 5.0 Beta that should fix this issue. Please do try it out and let me know if it fixes it for you. Here's how you install the beta: https://support.jumpdesktop.com/entries/109741706

Also - I would recommend moving away from using VNC and instead switching to Fluid Remote Desktop. It is much faster than VNC and much more capable. We'll soon be adding audio streaming to Fluid Remote Desktop as well. To remove VNC and enable Fluid Remote Desktop, open up Jump Desktop Connect and click on the settings icon on the top right. Then click Advanced and make sure "Fluid Remote Desktop" is checked. You should then see a light blue icon in Jump with your computer's name on it. Click it to connect.

    >Jump Desktop 7.0.3 Beta for Windows
    >Download 7.0.3 from here: https://jumpdesktop.com/downloads/jdwin

That gives me a Jump Desktop shortcut that goes to:

Jump Desktop 7.0.7 Beta for Windows

In the older Jump Desktop Connect icon that says version 4.9.8, and what I’m currently using, that's where I see the Fluid checkbox option (already previously checked).

“About” on the tablet says Jump Desktop 7.0.1 (105).

Whether I use Jump Desktop 7.0.7, or Jump Desktop Connect 4.9.8, Jeff415-PC lights up green, and Jeff415-PC (fluid) lights up blue

Trying to enter Fluid on both gives me a Windows credentials pop-up.
It asks for a password, but I don't have a password to my computer.

I’ll stick with Jeff415-PC and Jump Desktop 7.0.7 Beta for now.

    Hi Jeff,

    1. When you start your Windows computer, does it prompt you to enter a password log in? If so, thats the user account and password you should use to login into Fluid.

    2. Also, sorry for not being specific earlier. Please upgrade to Jump Desktop Connect 5.0.29 on the remote computer: https://jumpdesktop.com/downloads/connect/JumpDesktopConnect-5.0.29.0.exe (this will replace Jump Desktop Connect 4.9.8).

    >Jump Desktop Connect 5.0.29

    Thanks.

It now says version 5.0.29 in Diagnostics.

    >does it prompt you to enter a password log in?

No I don't have to a password when I use my computer.

    Windows 10

Settings > Accounts > Sign in options >

Your account doesn't have a password.

You must add a password before you can use the other sign-in options.

With version 5.0.29, Fluid still asks for a password.

IP login and Jeff415–PC login work fine with 5.0.29.

    Hi Jeff,

Fluid asking for a password is by-design.It will not allow you to login with user accounts that don't have a password set - this is a security measure. Here are a couple of options to try out:

    1. Add a password to your existing user account. If you don't want Windows to prompt you for a password after startup, you can always turn on automatic logons in Windows 10.
    2. Alternatively, you can also create a new Windows user with a password and use that to log into Fluid.

    Thanks.
    Fluid works now.
I used the "Run Netplwiz" option to auto log-in, and bypass the password prompt.

Can you consolidate the fix for the rest of us. It seems like a lot of trial and error.
