Mac host keeps freezing (connecting from windows); ping jumping up consistently

Hello,

Every five minutes or so the connection to my m2 Mac mini from my windows PC at work keeps freezing up and the Ping jumps. It is very annoying. This has occurred for the last 4 months or so.

I am connected by ethernet but to a power line connection. Could this be an issue? It was never an issue in the past.

I'm not sure what settings to test so I would appreciate some advice. Thanks.
