Wrong host name?

Unfortunately there is an issue where renaming computers on the dashboard does not propagate the name change to the clients and connect app. A fix for this will be deployed soon.

In the meantime, a workaround is to rename the machine in Jump Desktop Connect -> Settings -> General and then rename it in the web dashboard to match the name.

    Thanks for this!

Is there a way to make that change in Connect settings when they are locked by a connect settings profile?  Or do I need to remove the connect settings profile first, make the change and then re-apply?

Yes, you will have to remove Connect settings from the device temporarily.

If you have 'Local Configuration Changes' enabled (it is disabled by default) in Connect Settings then you won't need to do this.

Thanks, I'll turn on Local Changes long enough to make the adjustment, then will turn them off again.

Do you know why it picks up the wrong hostname in the first place?

Can you give me an example of the difference between host names? On Windows and Mac it should use the OS's default API to get the name. I can check with a developer to see which one it uses on a Mac.

Sure.  2 examples I saw recently are:

Mac named ny-smack-01 showed up as ny-smack-3

Mac named ny-assist-02 shows up as ny-assist-3
