Suddenly no keyboard input on my host machine

I suddenly have no keyboard input on my host machine. I work in the creative industry and there is no input on any keys i type. What's strange is that it does register keyboard input when i click the Mac OS magnifying glass search function. This lack of keyboard functionality is consistent when i try to log into the host machine from multiple other computers.

This happened quite randomly while working yesterday. Is there some accidental short cut that i typed that may have caused this?? Urgent help needed.
