    Hi Erik,

Sorry about the new icon. We are looking into tweaking it a little more. In the meantime you can change the icon to what ever you want by following the steps here: https://9to5mac.com/2020/12/01/change-mac-icons/

Here is the old icon if you want:

Erik, what about the attached icon. Would you prefer this instead in the dock? The inspiration is the old icon, except it's zoomed in on the person's head.

Please return to the old icon, and specially the status bar icon!

    I agree 100% Erik Carlseen.

    Thanks.

At least in dark mode, Spiderman icon is obnoxious in a set of white icons. (I don't think the icon has any meaning, but that is another matter.)

Please provide an option to hide the icon.

    Thank you.

FWIW, 9to5 instructions to change an icon manually appear not to work on Big Sur.

@Jeff - it is red because you're connected to the machine via Jump when you took the screenshot. If there are no active connections on your machine it will be white just like all your other icons:

The red is there to let you know that someone is connected.

I appreciate to reason for the red, though I can't say I'm a fan of the Spiderman.

I use connect to a headless server so I'll only see red. In my case, the option to hide would still be nice.

For me it looks like the helmet of a snowboarder. I found hardly anything on this icon which had to do with the meaning of the app. And the icon changing don't use anything because the dock icon stays the same 😟

Please, please ... give us the possibility to change the dock icon or restore the old icon, everyone now ...

Sorry ... my fault ... after rebooting my mac the dock icon has also changed.

So ... it's possible, to restore the old icon relative easily 😃

Hello many thanks for maintaining the app, but..
I'm sorry to say the new logo/icon is very unprofessional looking.
IMO just terrible, it looks like a game, doesn't resembles the function.

I've also customers that use the app a lot and dislikes the new icon.
+1 vote for reverting back to the old logo.

    +1 for old logo.

New one I have absolutely no idea what it means and it frequently clashes in common contexts (dock, toolbar, etc). Why do i have a glaring red icon in my dock screaming for attention when there's no remote host connected?

Hi Guys, love the app but agree the bright red new icon is distracting, and does not appear to represent what the app does.  I know iOS has support for allowing the user to select from multiple icons, maybe that would be a good feature to utilize as it appears this icon is a bit divisive.  Not the end of the world, but just wanted to give some feedback.  Thanks!

I don't like the old nor the new icon.

I'm generally not a fan of Michael Flarups plastic/skeuomorphic/toy-like style. But in this case, he also seemingly ignored the icons purpose.

    • It has nothing to do with remote control or jumping. It could be a logo for anything.
    • The motiv looks unfriendly and impersonal.
    • The material makes no sense and reminds me of Windows Vista when everything had to be shiny for some reason.
    • The color is far too bright.
    • It reminds me of Teamspeak logo.
    • The version in the mac menu bar is a blurry mess.
    • The only nice thing is the cloud texture in the glasses. Except they're barely visible on the homescreen.

But I think it's not just the icon that needs a redesign. I would ask a designer to create a matching set of remote icons, toolbar icons, marketing material and to rework the interface a bit.

Little note: On both old and new application (icon) do 'Get info'. Copy/Paste the logo (with <cmd>-C .. V).

Especially when someone is looking at my monitor, it's embarrassing.

Logged in just to agree. New logo is very confusing. I love old logo and see no reason to change!

Well, I disliked the new icon right away. Spiderman goes skiing. Now that the old one is back, I think I liked the new one better. After all the old one is a red person floating in a cloud in the sky.

Guess I am a one of those indecisive consumers.

Maybe there will a nice blend of old and new for the new logo?

Best wishes to the marketing team!

I thought someone hacked my jump desktop.  Red means warning to me and blue goggles portrayed someone was spying on me so I definitely do not like the new icon lol.  The old icon was just fine and was more trustworthy looking.
