Web Client: Mapping Control to Command (Locked-down Windows Client to Mac Host)
Tried to extensively troubleshoot this issue through prior form questions, reddit threads and AI without success.
I need to map the Windows Control key to the Mac Command key using the web client, but my environment is strictly locked down.
Context:
- Remote PC is a university/hospital computer. No admin rights therefore cannot install the Jump Windows app, run AutoHotkey, or change OS settings.
- Windows Key Interception - The local PC traps the Windows key. Full-screen mode does not work (unsure if this is secondary to group policy blocking the browser's Keyboard Lock API or a limitation of Jump's Web app.
- Mac Mini host - Karabiner-Elements fails because Jump injects keystrokes past the hardware driver layer. System Settings modifications as keyboard shortcuts partially work but limit my custom shortcuts and have to be manually toggled on and off when I am no longer remote.
Since the web client lacks a modifier toggle...
- Is there a terminal command or config file for the Mac Connect app to remap incoming modifiers?
- Are there plans to add modifier mapping directly to the web client?
- Is there a native Jump workaround to translate these inputs on my Mac?
