Unattended Remote Desktop permission won't complete on macOS - cannot connect remotely
Subject: Unattended Remote Desktop permission won't complete on macOS - cannot connect remotely
Hello Jump Desktop Support,
I'm having trouble setting up unattended remote access with Jump Desktop Connect on my Mac, and I can no longer connect to this Mac from my other devices.
--- Problem ---
When I run the permissions assistant (the "Unattended Remote Desktop" step), I enable the Jump Desktop Connect toggle under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Remote Desktop.
The toggle appears ON in both System Settings and in the assistant's preview, but the assistant never shows a completion message and does not advance. As a result, I cannot connect to this Mac remotely from any of my other devices.
--- Environment ---
- Mac model: M4 Mac mini
- macOS version: 26.2(25C56)
- Jump Desktop Connect version: unknown
--- Steps I've already tried (without success) ---
1. Updated Jump Desktop Connect to the latest version.
2. Re-ran the permission assistant via Settings > Diagnostics > Check macOS Permissions.
3. Toggled the Remote Desktop permission off and back on, then fully quit and relaunched the app.
4. Confirmed Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions are also enabled.
5. Fully uninstalled (Settings > Uninstall), deleted the preferences file with:
sudo rm /var/root/Library/Preferences/com.p5sys.jump.connect.plist
then rebooted and reinstalled the latest version.
The issue persists after all of the above.
--- Request ---
Could you help me identify what is preventing the Remote Desktop (unattended) permission from being recognized and completing? I'm happy to provide diagnostic logs, screenshots, or any other information you need.
Thank you for your help.
