RDP Multi-Monitor Issue After Update to Version 10.15.31
After updating to Microsoft Remote Desktop version 10.15.31, we noticed an issue when using a multi-monitor setup with displays that have different resolutions on macOS.
Issue Description
When connecting to a remote desktop session across multiple monitors, the desktop on the monitor with the lower resolution is no longer displayed correctly. Parts of the desktop are cut off and inaccessible.
As a workaround, it is possible to adjust the display arrangement in macOS to make the desktop fit the smaller monitor. However, this results in black bars appearing at the top and bottom of the screen. While the desktop becomes fully visible, the display is no longer utilized in full-screen mode.
Before updating to version 10.15.31, the remote desktop scaled correctly and used the entire screen area on all monitors, even when different monitor resolutions were in use.
Environment
- macOS
- Microsoft Remote Desktop 10.15.31
- Multiple monitors with different native resolutions
- RDP session in multi-monitor/full-screen mode
