Audio Not Working Over Mac-to-Mac Remote Connection

I'm trying to establish a remote connection from one Mac to another, but audio is not playing.
It was working fine until yesterday, but now in the audio settings, the audio output appears grayed out. I can't play any sound or adjust the volume.

I tried reinstalling the software, but the issue persists.
Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it?
