Cannot Control Games with Keyboard/Mouse via Jump Desktop (MacBook Pro → Mac mini M4, No Local Peripherals)
Problem:
-
For regular desktop apps, keyboard and mouse input from the MacBook Pro work perfectly on the Mac mini.
-
However, when I launch any games on the Mac mini via Jump Desktop, I cannot control the game at all:
-
Keyboard input does not register in the game.
-
Mouse input work
-
No game controls respond (can’t moved).
-
-
The Mac mini is running headless (no physical keyboard, mouse, or monitor connected)
Steps I have tried:
-
Restarted both computers.
-
Tried running the game in both windowed and fullscreen mode.
-
Ensured the same issue happens regardless of game or app window mode.
-
Confirmed keyboard/mouse work for non-game applications.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing the detailed information.
Can you please try connecting a physical mouse and keyboard directly to your Mac mini M4 to see if that makes a difference when running the games?
Some games may require direct input devices when running on a headless setup.
Also, may I ask what type of game application you are trying to run on the Mac mini?
Additionally, could you confirm if you are currently connecting to the Mac mini using VNC?
If so, we highly recommend trying to connect using Jump’s Fluid Remote Desktop protocol instead/
To set this up, please install Jump Desktop Connect on your Mac mini M4 by visiting this link: jumpdesktop.com/connect and follow the outlined steps for automatic configuration.
Let me know how it goes
