How to match client window size to exact remote resolution (avoid letterboxing & blur)?
Hi all - I’m using Jump Desktop primarily to remote into my Mac from a Windows PC. One issue I’m running into is that when I resize or maximize the Jump Desktop window on my Windows machine, the remote Mac automatically adjusts resolution, which is fine, but it rarely matches the exact size of the Jump Desktop window.
What I’m seeing:
-
Sometimes I get black bars/letterboxing around the image because the remote resolution doesn’t match the client window size exactly.
-
Other times the desktop appears slightly blurry, almost like it’s being scaled because the resolution is close, but not an exact match.
-
I don’t see an option that forces the Jump Desktop window to snap to the correct size, or a setting that ensures resolution changes map 1:1 to the current client window.
Questions:
-
Is there a setting I might be missing to force exact pixel-matched scaling?
-
Is there a way to make Jump Desktop resize the window automatically to the ideal dimensions instead of dynamically scaling the remote resolution?
-
If this behavior isn’t currently supported, could this be considered as a feature request?
Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks for the details.
Can you please make sure you’re connecting to your Mac using Jump’s Fluid protocol and that Virtual Displays are enabled. If you’re still seeing the issue after connecting over Fluid with Virtual Displays enabled, please submit a support request so we can take a closer look and help diagnose what’s happening on your setup.
Thank you -
Thanks. Virtual displays allows for the resolution to adjust appropriately when resizing, but still sometimes results in the image being slightly blurry due to a non-perfect resolution match, or for there to be black bars/letterboxing. It does make the problem less severe when virtual display is enable, but does not resolve it.
