Cannot connect anymore to Windows from MacOS - standard application still works
As of today, I cannot connect anymore to a local Windows machine using Jump Desktop. This has worked before. The error I'm getting is "Connection Error: there was an error connecting to the computer. Error code 2.50 (0x32). I'm connecting using IP Address.
- The standard MacOS application, Windows App (formerly known an Remote Desktop) can still connect
- Telnet works (the the standard RDP port)
I tried all of the following things:
- delete the connection an creating a new one. Even without filling in any credentials, this error dialog appears (which makes me think it's got nothing to do with the account)
- reboot both machines.
- change the IP address of the Windows machine.
- reinstall Jump Desktop.
- disable NLA authentication on the Windows machine.
- change settings in Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Remote Desktop Services → Remote Desktop Session Host → Security
- check Windows event logs (found nothing relevant)
I'm out of ideas.
