UPDATED Sep 17th 2024:
We’ve released a new version of Jump Desktop Connect (6.10.33) that includes the necessary entitlement for unattended remote desktop on macOS 14 (Sonoma), macOS 15 (Sequoia), and later versions. We are rolling this out to users via automatic updates.
You will now see an entry for Jump Desktop in the Remote Desktop section of Privacy and Security in System Preferences. Granting this permission ensures that macOS will not require re-authorization of screen recording monthly for Jump Desktop Connect.
Here's what's new in Jump Desktop Connect 6.10.33:
• Mac Permissions Assistant: This new version introduces a fully redesigned Permissions assistant that will guide you through all the required macOS permissions for setting up Jump Desktop Connect.
• For Existing Users: If you’re upgrading from an older version of Jump Desktop Connect and are on macOS 14 or later, the new permission assistant will automatically pop up after installation to guide you in setting up the correct Remote Desktop permissions.
Important Update: Sequoia Screen Recording Policies
We are aware of an issue in the current Sequoia betas where users must reauthorize screen sharing for apps every week or after a computer restart. This affects both the existing and new Screen Capture Kit APIs.
Apple has introduced a new entitlement called "Persistent Content Capture Entitlement," designed for apps like Jump Desktop that need screen capture permissions on unattended systems. We have applied for this entitlement and are awaiting Apple's response. We believe Jump Desktop Connect's functionality makes it eligible for this entitlement, which we hope will eliminate the need for re-authorization after each week or restart once approved.
We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
