Keyboard input and auxiliary keypads

Jump Desktop has several auxiliary Keypads to make it easy to do everything on your mobile device that you do with a physical keyboard.

You can access the main Keyboard and auxiliary Keypads by three-finger tapping or tapping the keyboard icon in the upper left or right corner.

Keypads for the iPhone

 

Accessing and switching between the auxiliary Keypads on iPhone is a little different from iPad. Tap the Keyboard icon in the upper right corner, or three-finger tap to bring up the QWERTY Keyboard.

From there, tap the Keypad icon to switch to the auxiliary Keypads, or three-finger double tap, then use your finger to swipe between auxiliary Keypads:

    I can't enter a russian (cyrillic) symbols. I use IPad 2, the computer work with Win 7 home! What do i wrong?

    I can't enter Thai text. I use both iPad 2 and iPhone 4 to connect to Windows 7 computer. Please the add support for me :(

    @Pop, can you email support@jumpdesktop.com ? We have a beta on the way that enables Thai input for VNC machines. More technical: RDP for Thai machines works, but as of 4.0.5 VNC connections don't handle all unicode characters properly.

    Maybe I'm missing it, but is there a way to change keyboard controls to Mac friendly? You know, command, option, shift, etc... Instead of control, alt, windows, etc...

    @Lee - The controls map in the following way on the Mac:

    • Shift -> Shift
    • Ctrl -> Control
    • Alt -> Option
    • Win -> Command

    Yeah, I know the mappings, but your competitors offer the ability to choose the type of keyboard for VNC connections. Seems like something you'd want to implement. I bought your app and my boss is upset, at least mildly, that there isn't that option. People who aren't bi-os-lingual will have problems remembering the mappings.

    @Lee if you mean selecting the keyboard layout for Mac connections, then please hang on. We already have this implemented in our development builds and it'll be included in our next update. 

    Edit: I see you meant that we include the actual labels on the buttons. We'll fix this in the next update so that it correctly matches the labels on a Mac.

    Found another "quirk" when controlling a Mac. You have to use the special shift key for caps. It would be nice to be able to use the standard iPhone/iPad shift key. This becomes really apparent when using something like ! When you type ! On the iPad keyboard it shows up as 1 on the Mac. I have to use "shift-1" to get a !

    @Ltw - are you using a british keyboard layout on your Mac? If so, contact support@jumpdesktop.com - we're beta testing a version of Jump that has this fix.

    I'm not using lion. I'm using 10.6.7. I use a lot of video editing software. Lion isn't an option or me right now. I'll email support with some screen shots.

    Can't input Russian language. Was promised to add it after 4.0.5 but now is 4.0.7. Would be a great idea to make it.

    Any chances to get finnish keyboard support? Now W7`s finnish keymapping get confused if I take RDP-connection with Jump where english keyboard is defined.

    Is it possible to add a spacebar to the 123 iPad keyboard.  I use my iPad to remotely control iTunes on my macbook pro to play music for church.  Because the spacebar stops and starts play, it would be great to have it on the screen with the larger arrow keys.

    I use the return key to start a song, the arrow keys to move between songs, and the spacebar to stop and/or start playback of the current song.  It would be great if I could do all of this from the 123 keyboard.

    i miss the @ Symbol. I cant use it with my bluetooth keyboard on my ipad air 2. Can you help me

     

    Its alt plus q in windows i just forgot. It works perfectly.

    new problem

    cant use macros for f1-f10 

    and cant press esc with macros it makes my ipad brighter only

    I can not type cyrillic from IPhone to OS X computer. Some characters are missing. Is it normal? The keyboard is set to "Russian" and i have a latest software installed
