Welcome to Jump Desktop! This quick guide will help you get connected and working remotely in just a few minutes.
Signing into Your Jump Desktop Account
- Open the Jump Desktop app on your device.
- Click Sign In in the top-left corner of the application window.
- Your web browser will automatically open — sign in using the method provided by your team admin (email, SSO, etc.).
- Once you're signed in, go back to the Jump Desktop app to continue.
Connecting to a Machine
- After signing in, you'll see a list of the machines you have access to.
- Double-click the machine you want to connect to.
- When prompted, enter the login credentials for that machine
(Note: These are the credentials you would use if you were physically using the device. They are different from your Jump Desktop account login.) - You are now connected to your remote desktop.
While Connected
Using Virtual Monitors
- Go to Menu Bar → Displays → Virtual Displays
- You can create up to 4 virtual monitors
- Arrange them across your physical screens as needed for multitasking
Using Keyboard Shortcuts & Mac Shortcuts
Jump Desktop automatically converts shortcuts between Mac and Windows when possible.
On macOS clients:
- Toggle shortcut passthrough:
Ctrl + Cmd + Left Arrow
or go to: Menu Bar → Remote → macOS Shortcuts
On Windows clients:
- Toggle shortcut passthrough:
Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow
or go to: Menu Bar → Remote → Windows Shortcuts
Going Full Screen & Switching Apps
On macOS clients:
- Enter/Exit Full Screen:
Ctrl + Cmd + For use Menu Bar → View → Fullscreen - Switch between apps on your local machine:
Cmd + Tab - Switch between apps on the remote machine:
Option + Tab
On Windows clients:
- Enter/Exit Full Screen:
Ctrl + Alt + F11or use Menu Bar → View → Fullscreen - Switch between apps on your local machine:

Disconnecting a Session
On macOS clients:
- Close the window or go to Menu Bar → Remote → Disconnect
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + Shift + Cmd + W
On Windows clients:
- Close the window or go to Menu Bar → File → Disconnect
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + Alt + W
