Maybe you guys could release a display driver for windows that has the resolutions for common tablets?

I just used the generic VGA adapter with the fluid device (my ipad pro) as the third display and used the max resolution and it was close (2560x1536) but 2880x1800 wasn't available as a mode...  its better than nothing, but a new device driver with that mode available would be a good start, right?

    Can fluid support remote audio?

It doesn't support remote audio yet, but we plan on adding it very soon.

What Port does Fluid use? How do can I set up a connection through Port-Forwarding?

@Sebastian: Fluid doesn't open up any listening ports at the moment. You can't connect to it using a manual connection via an IP address - instead, you'll have to make sure Jump Desktop Connect is running on the remote machine and you're logged into your Jump Desktop account: https://jumpdesktop.com/go . Also - Fluid will automatically find it's way through your router - you don't need to configure additional networking. If you have trouble connecting over Fluid please let us know.

@Jump Desktop Support: I think Sebastian raised a valid point here. I'm interested in using jump desktop to connect to a machine which i do not want to have any direct access to the internet.

I think the possibility to use your cloud setup to traverse any kind of Firewall / NAT-Router is a nice and easy solution for many people. It seems that there is a trend to put as much as possible "in the cloud",  however IMHO many remote desktop users are fairly advanced users and i guess lots of them actually care about having control over everything in their local network like i do. I would also say that remote desktop is one of the most sensitive / critical things one could do with respect to security.

Due to Jump Desktops lack of supporting RDPs inherent acceleration RemoteFX, i would really love to use Fluid. However being forced to use a cloud service in this case is a no-go for me.

Can you tell us if you have plans to supporting direct fluid connections (or RemoteFX) in the future? In case you need testers here you can for sure add me o the list :-)

It seems unlikely now, however, is there any chance that a Wake-on-LAN feature might be coming anytime soon? And I'd like to check out the beta, I'll shoot support an email to that effect.

    @Jump Desktop Support:

At the beginning of this thread it states: "Clipboard Sharing: Copy/paste stuff from/to the local system."

I am unable to get this to work with files (it does work with copied text). I have made sure both ends are running the latest version, and I have also tried enabling "Windows Shortcuts" just in case that made a difference (but it does not). Running Windows 10 on both ends.

How do I get this to work?

File Sharing via clipboard isn't supported at the moment, however we're actively working on this for Fluid 2.0.

LOL, you should clarify your clipboard sharing statement then, because copying files to the clipboard is a very common thing. I hope it comes soon, because the lack of common features we use to have with VNC is really killing me. I read in another post by support that VNC is supposed to still be working (although manually installed and activated), but I was unable to get jump to show an icon for it. I feel like my hands are tied behind my back compared to what we used to have.

How close are we to getting Audio on Fluid? Has beta started for Fluid 2.0 yet?

Just a FYI — Windows ALT-TAB (Option-Tab on a Apple keyboard) doesn’t seem to work on Fluid, even though it works fine on RDP.  This is the single thing keeping me from using Fluid.  Bug fix please?

@ch.ka: We've had a lot of interest for providing a cloudless version of Fluid and this is on our radar. I'm not sure if this is going to make it into 2.0, but this is definitely one of the things we plan to implement in the short to medium term. RemoteFX support for RDP: This is coming too - again, I unfortunately don't have a timeline, but it is planned and will be added.

@christopher: Fluid 2.0 will support file transfer via the clipboard. We just couldn't fit that many things into the first release of Fluid. That being said - you can still use VNC or RDP with Jump Desktop Connect: Open up Jump Desktop Connect and click the settings icons. Then click 'Advanced' and turn on RDP or VNC. Make sure you have RDP / VNC configured on the computer.

@jason: Internal work has started on Fluid 2.0. We don't have a public beta yet though. If you're interested shoot us an email: support@jumpdesktop.com

@chris: Alt+Tab works with Fluid when connecting to Windows (or even Macs). This is not a known issue. Can you please shoot us an email: support@jumpdesktop.com . Let us know which version of Windows you're connecting to and which device (iOS/Android/Mac/Windows), you're connecting FROM.

I too, like Ch Ka, would love to see a cloudless version of Fluid. I prefer to connect to my home router through a VPN - that only I control. This leaves my home network safely tucked behind an aggressive firewall, unless I and I alone connect via OpenVPN - giving me full access to all of my network, and the machines therein.

Same question as the poster above - Audio support for Fluid would literally change my life in so many ways. Help!

    Hi,

I'm having an issue where I'm trying to log into a Windows 10 machine on my local network that is logged in with a domain account, I can log in with RDP but not with Fluid. I'm connecting from Android.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Jon

I have the same issue as Jon. Fluid will not log into a domain joined PC (Windows 10) - even with valid credentials. RDP works just fine.

In the FAQ there was a question; "Q: Why can't I automatically set the remote resolution to match my local monitor / device like RDP?"

I'm still only able to connect to one of my remote servers at 1024 x 768, but when I use the RDP connection it is beautiful and more more higher resolution. In the answer it says this feature is being worked on but it seems like that was a long time ago now. Are there any updates? Is this feature still being worked on?

Automatic remote resolution switching will be part of Fluid 2.0. Is your remote server headless by any chance? Fluid 2.0 will still be limited to resolutions available on the remote computer's graphics card. So the experience will not be exactly like RDP (which can basically mimic any resolution).

    The server is headless.

Hi, is Fluid 2.0 released yet? I would really like the feature to up the resolution when running fluid on my mac to remote into my windows server. If not, is there a release date set in mind? thanks

Is Fluid 2.0 ready yet? Can we beta test to help?

  • Avatar

So, It's been a year now since I was made a "beta tester" and there's still no fluid 2.0 beta to test. Audio implementation is still a no go. Is there any sort of timeline or progress update for this?
