Jump Desktop Connect 5.0 and later have dropped automatic configuration for VNC in favour of the Fluid Remote Desktop protocol. Jump Desktop Connect still does support VNC though, but you will need to manually install the VNC server and enable the VNC option in Jump Desktop Connect's Advanced configuration settings. Follow these steps on the computer you are trying to access remotely:
- First install a third party VNC server on your Windows machine, or if you're on a Mac enable Screen Sharing in Sharing Preferences.
- Once installed, open up Jump Desktop Connect on your computer and then click the settings icon on the top right. Then click Advanced and make sure the VNC option is checked. Make sure the Port is set to the port the VNC server is running on - this is usually port 5900.
- Thats it - you should now see a new icon for your computer in Jump. Tap it to connect.
