Follow these steps only if you see a completely black screen AFTER you log into your PC (if you don't see the login screen at all, try this instead)
- Firstly pan around the screen to make sure the screen is indeed empty - for example, pan around to see if the Windows Start button is visible.
- If you computer is connected through a wireless network make sure you're using Windows to manage your wireless connection.
- Try connecting your computer to the network using an ethernet cable.
- Sometimes old display drivers can cause problems. Try to update your display drivers to the latest version. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you don't know how to do this - we'll be happy to walk you through it.
