NOTE: Dell Laptop users should take a look at this article.
Follow these steps only if you see a completely black screen AFTER you log into your PC (if you don't see the login screen at all, try this instead)
- Firstly pan around the screen to make sure the screen is indeed empty - for example, pan around to see if the Windows Start button is visible.
- If you computer is connected through a wireless network make sure you're using Windows to manage your wireless connection.
- Try connecting your computer to the network using an ethernet cable.
- Sometimes old display drivers can cause problems. Try to update your display drivers to the latest version. Contact support@jumpdesktop.com if you don't know how to do this - we'll be happy to walk you through it.

Hi,
There is a known issue with Windows 8 and RDP mode. We'll be releasing an update that addresses the issue very soon. In the meantime please try this Windows 8 workaround here: http://support.jumpdesktop.com/entries/21123243-windows-8-consumer-preview-install
Thanks.
It's October 27 and still no update. Windows 8 officially launched yesterday. I guess your notion of "very soon" is slightly different than mine.
Connecting to Windows Server 2012 works with the iPad version (5.0) but with the Android version (4.0.11) after you connect all you see it a blank black screen. I have panned around and tried lots of settings. Always blank on Android.
Where is 5.0 for Android? Seems like no release for Android since April? Even if 5.0 is not ready (looking forward to the touch support), how about a patch release for 4.x to work with Windows 8/2012?
Ironically the free Android RDP apps I have work well with Windows 8/2012, but my swish commercial app doesn't and no updates to fix it :-(
@Aaron, we're about to release 5.0 for Android soon. In the meantime anyone having trouble with Android just email support@jumpdesktop.com and please ask them to get you into the Android beta.
Guys - we've released Jump Desktop for Android 5.0. It has the Windows 8 and 2012 fixes. Thanks for waiting on this one!
Testing on Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1 and Nexus 7 4.1.2 and the problem is resolved. No black/blank screen when connecting to Windows Server 2012.
@Aaron - thanks for testing this out!
Unfortunately I'm getting this as well. It's been pretty recent, but the issue I'm experiencing is slightly more complex. I used to be able to remote into different profiles on a macOS system without issue. As of late, probably this last patch, only the first user I log into will display a screen, the second user (jump desktop computer icon) will remain black. Any thoughts?
