When connecting to a Windows machine using Jump Desktop, you may notice that the mouse pointer doesn’t update or change shape as expected. This typically happens when no physical mouse is connected to the remote machine.
Symptoms:
•The mouse pointer remains static and doesn’t reflect the expected changes (e.g., from arrow to text cursor).
•Pointer shape doesn’t update when hovering over clickable elements.
•Issues are more common when no external mouse is attached to the remote Windows machine.
We’re aware of this issue and are actively working on an automatic fix. In the meantime, you can apply a temporary workaround:
Enable Mouse Keys in Accessibility:
Windows 11:
- Open Settings
- Open Accessibility
- Scroll down to the Interaction section and select Mouse
- Toggle Mouse Keys to On
Windows 10:
- Open Control Panel
- In the Control Panel, select Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center.
- Scroll down and click on Make the mouse easier to use.
- Check the box next to Turn on Mouse Keys and click Apply.
This should resolve the pointer update issue until a permanent fix is released.
