On iOS and iPadOS, the system shows a prompt like “Jump Desktop” would like to paste from “[App Name]” whenever Jump Desktop reads from the clipboard. This prompt appears every time the clipboard is accessed — including when Jump Desktop syncs your clipboard with the remote computer — which can become disruptive during a remote session.
Why this happens
iOS displays the paste prompt by default for every app that accesses clipboard content originally copied from another app. Because Jump Desktop checks the clipboard so that you can paste into the remote computer, the prompt can appear frequently.
Option 1: Allow Jump Desktop to paste automatically
iOS lets you allow Jump Desktop to paste from other apps without prompting each time:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Apps.
- Scroll down and tap Jump Desktop.
- Tap Paste from Other Apps.
- Select Allow (the default is Ask).
After making this change, Jump Desktop will no longer ask for permission each time the clipboard is accessed, and clipboard sync with the remote computer will continue to work seamlessly.
Option 2: Disable clipboard sharing for the computer
If you don't need to share the clipboard between your iPhone/iPad and the remote computer, you can turn clipboard sharing off entirely. With clipboard sharing disabled, Jump Desktop no longer reads the clipboard, so iOS stops showing the paste prompt.
- Open Jump Desktop on your iPhone or iPad.
- Locate the computer in your computer list and edit its settings.
- Find the Clipboard sharing (or Sync clipboard) option and turn it off.
- Save your changes.
Notes
- The Paste from Other Apps setting only affects Jump Desktop. Other apps continue to prompt as before.
- On older versions of iOS, the option may appear under Settings → Jump Desktop directly, without the Apps sub-menu.
- If you do not see the Paste from Other Apps option, update your device to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
